Unbox the printer and connect it to the computer and the main power board using the appropriate
cable.
PRINTER DRIVER INSTALLATION
• Put in the Printer Driver Software CD-ROM into the CD-ROM Drive and double-click on [my
computer] icon -> CD -ROM DRIVE Icon.
• Then, double-click on the folders: [PCL] or [UFRII]->[uk-eng].
• For beginning INSTALLATION process, double click on the [setup.exe] icon.
• In the dialogue box of PCL/UFR II printer driver setup wizard, select NEXT.
• You need to carefully read the license agreement and then select YES for agreeing to its terms.
• Now select ‘ Manually set port to install’ -> NEXT.
If user has an installation of Canon Printer Driver Information Assist Service and is using an operating system
that’s equipped with Windows Firewall, and when a dialogue box then appears, choose YES or NO.
If you select YES, Windows Firewall gets configured for unblocking the connection for Printer Driver Information Assist Service. This then lets you set up the printer configuration automatically or use the
Job Accounting feature.
When you select NO, you won’t be able to use the Canon Driver Information Assist Service.
Now choose NEXT. A screen will reflect if the needed drivers have been installed already by using the
installer. Now, click on one of the options under the heading ‘ Process to Install Printer Driver, and then select Next.
INSTALLATION PROCESS
• One can install a new driver and simultaneously update existing drivers.
• One can even add a new driver without affecting the existing drivers or can update the
prevailing drivers without adding a fresh one.
• Choose the printer drivers that you want to install from the PRINTER LIST, then choose ADD.
The chosen printer drivers will be added to the PRINTER LIST FOR DRIVER INSTALLATION.
Ensure that you’ve chosen the printer drivers that you want to install in the PRINTER LIST FOR DRIVER INSTALLATION, then select NEXT.
• Choose a port.
For standard port setup, choose printer port you want to use from PORT.
For set-up of a port for a network printer, select the ADD PORT option.
• From ADD PORT dialogue box Choose NETWORK -> OK.
• Select NETWORK PRINTER-> OK.
If wanting to add a port, choose ADD PORT.
From ADD PORT dialogue box, select the printer port you want to add -> OK.
Here, identify the settings for the port you wish to add in the dialogue box that gets shown, then choose OK.
• In the given field, enter the printer name -> NEXT.
• Analyze the settings of installation and go to START.
• Once the files get copied, select EXIT to end the installation process.
• Restart the computer when asked to. The printer icon will be now displayed in the printer folder, indicating the installation of the driver. (Canon Printer Driver)
